Welcome! My name is Scott, and I truly believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out and begin or continue this journey of healing, understanding, and strength, so the fact that you are reading this is already a wonderful step in a positive direction. My goal with all clients who choose to work with me is to provide a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space—a place where you can be present with your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and words. A space where you can learn to feel a sense of agency in your own life. I believe we all have the power within us to heal and grow, and I will be there as your trusted guide, walking with you through the ups and downs of this journey.

I hold a Master of Science Degree in Counseling with a concentration in Career and College Counseling from San Francisco State University. My approach is rooted in a humanistic, person-centered, trauma-informed, and biopsychosocial perspective. I frame my work through systems theory and multicultural counseling theory, understanding that we are all part of multiple systems and hold various cultural identities—racial, ethnic, ability, religious, sexual orientation, and gender identity—along with the intersectionality of these identities. Because of this, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Each of us is unique, and that uniqueness will shape our therapeutic relationship and the path we take on this journey.

This is a second career for me, the Part II of my life’s work. Part I consisted of 14 years working in higher education, primarily in academic and career counseling. That experience gives me a unique perspective on how the world of work can contribute to many mental health issues and stressors. It also deepened my curiosity about people and the world. I bring that same curiosity to my work with clients—I’m eager to learn about your story and your experiences, and I will meet you exactly where you are. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about me, and I look forward to getting to know you as we work together to help you live the life you envision for yourself.

I am currently registered and practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (R10195) and am pursuing full licensure under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. I adhere to the LPC code of ethics and Oregon’s mandatory reporting laws. At times, I may seek supervision or consultation, and I will always inform you about the limits of confidentiality as needed.
