Nicole Romero
Professional Counseling Associate
Supervisor: Desiree Dalkiran, LPC
Welcome, I’m Nicole (she/her)
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that meaningful connection can create space for healing and growth. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating concerns such as anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting stress, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I strive to create an affirming environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to better understand themselves, explore patterns that may no longer serve them, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges.
My therapeutic approach balances practical skill-building with deeper emotional exploration and draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Gestalt Therapy, somatic approaches, Ego States work, and child-centered play therapy. I also have training in the SCERTS model for supporting neurodivergent individuals. I value authenticity, humor, curiosity, and collaboration in therapy and am committed to providing culturally responsive and affirming care that honors each client's unique identity, values, strengths, and lived experiences.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Washington State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bushnell University. My professional experience includes outpatient mental health therapy, Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education, and work with youth in foster care and residential settings involving crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management. I am registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Professional Counselor Associate (PCA) and practice under Board-required supervision. I receive individual and group supervision from B. Andrea Vielma, DBA, LMFT #T2440, and Desiree A. Dalkiran, MC, NCC, LPC #C5705.
